Mickey Mouse Is A 90 Year Old Icon
Mickey Mouse is one of the most popular cartoon characters in the world, starring in numerous comics, books, television shows and movies and appearing on countless different occasions. To celebrate the 90th anniversary of this beloved character, Disney hosted a celebration season in the winter of 2018 full of color, sparkle and fun. Today we tell you everything that was included in this anniversary celebration.
Mickey Mouse’s 90th anniversary
Mickey Mouse has been a central part of The Walt Disney Company since it first appeared in public on November 18, 1928 in Steamboat Ville . It eventually grew into a world-renowned icon, and was the first cartoon character to star in Hollywood’s famous Walk of Fame.
Suitable for Mickey Mouse’s legendary position, the long 90th anniversary celebration lasted until early spring 2019 and was full of emotion and event. The program included, among other things, the kind of offer shown below.
Interactive Mickey Mouse art exhibition
The True Original Exhibition honored the history of Mickey Mouse and allowed families to get to know the character’s life right from its early days. The exhibition was held in New York from November to February.
Disney stores
As early as the beginning of 2018, 12 special Mickey Mouse dolls and other collectibles were sold in Disney stores. All of these products celebrate and honor the moments that Mickey Mouse has offered viewers over the years. In addition, more than 30 works were published on Disney ‘s publishing side in honor of the anniversary, including books and comics and other similar products. In November, the ABC television channel presented a celebration program in which many well-known Actors and musicians performed in honor of the iconic cartoon character.
Disney parks
On Nov. 18, Disney parks around the world sold special Mickey Mouse products in honor of the celebration and offered visitors a chance to get in the picture with everyone’s favorite mouse. Other events dedicated to Mickey Mouse were also held in the parks.
Disney Fan Club events
In collaboration with Disney’s animation studios, fans were introduced to a new portrait of Mickey Mouse. This work appeared in the official fan club magazine. The artist who was honored to take this portrait is the well-known painter Mark Henn. The painting was unveiled on November 23 at an event that was named Destination D: Celebrating Mickey Mouse . The event at the Walt Disney Resort featured fun performances, speeches and other entertainment.
Disney TV channel
Of course, The Disney Channel also celebrated Mickey Mouse’s 90th anniversary. It kicked off its fifth season of Mickey Mouse short films, bringing the total number of episodes to over 90. In addition, the channel featured a seven-minute special program on Mickey Mouse’s birthday.
Disney on Ice and Mickey Is Art
The Disney on Ice show featured special birthday performances in Europe, Africa, South America, the Middle East and, of course, the United States. For the competition, the students made art with the subject of this beloved mouse.
